About Basanth
An Indian-American musician and saxophonist, Basanth hails from a family of Carnatic musicians based out of Los Angeles, California.
Basanth’s musical training began at the age of three and continues to this date. Initially trained in vocal, carnatic keyboard, and veena, Basanth set his eyes on the saxophone in his early teenage years. His interest in jazz and western classical music was nurtured along with his natural inclination for Carnatic music.
After his move to Chennai, Basanth debuted on Super Singer, a competitive Indian music show televised on Vijay TV. He has since had a successful professional career in the Indian music industry as well as the indie music scene. He has collaborated with notable names such as Benny Dayal, Pradeep Kumar, Madonna Sebastian, Santhosh Narayanan, among many others.
Sax House by Basanth is a culmination of decades of musical finesse, driven by Basanth’s stellar improvisational ability and diverse musical influences. His Carnatic, Jazz, and Classical sensibilities a a unique sound that is both fresh as well as timeless.
